neatShow.js works by loading an image, without actually displaying it. When the image is completely loaded and ready to be displayed, the plugin reveals the photo using a simple, basic fade effect.
In simpler terms, you can call neatShow.js an "image preloader".
Developers can customize the speed in which the images load. Besides numeric values, they can also use a "random" setting which loads images at a different fade effect speed. In this case they can also set a minimum and maximum speed, so images don't load at too much varying speeds.
